ABSTRACTION FILTERS

Abstraction Filters is a work-in-progress realtime animated interactive IRL video installation.

Blending elements of paper collage, realtime animation and surreal juxtaposition, the project poses the simple question, how can we expand on the idea of the portrait to more accurately reflect who we are as individuals?

Viewers are invited to abstract themselves in a dozen different ways - compose a portrait, and once in a good place, snap a looping animated .gif and make a 5x7 print to take home. As a physical installation in public space, the work invites personal reflection, community, and collaboration.

The project is ongoing and currently in development.
