JR Skola is an interdisciplinary artist & creative producer working with moving images, installation, and sound. He is a co-founder and director at Optical Animal, a design build media architecture studio operating at the intersection of art, technology, architecture, cinema and storytelling.

As both artist and engineer, he enjoys collaborating with artists and creators across many mediums, which has led to projects spanning public art installations, 3D and motion graphic animation, music videos, scenic design, interactive experiences, video games, fashion films, gallery exhibitions, feature films, and multimedia systems integration.

He seeks to build community and connection through his work, embracing a spirit of DIY empowerment and offering a deliberate alternative to a style of work that can be unnecessarily complicated and overly technical.

His work explores the joys and challenges of being a thinking loving breathing feeling human.

He lives and works in New York City.
